Washing dishes is one of the most dreaded kitchen chores especially when you live alone and it's always your turn to wash them. You are like a maid service and you have to do all the housework.

There are two ways to wash your dishes: by hand or in the dishwasher. Some prefer the dishwasher for its convenience, and others prefer hand washing because in such a way they can control how much water they use and ensure that their dishes are clean the first time.

If you prefer to do the dishes by hand, make sure to scrape any leftover food into the trash, before you start the actual washing process. Use the hottest water, be careful - don't scald yourself. Hot water cuts through grease better and has better overall sanitizing properties. Don’t fill the sink all the way to the top, make it about half full. If you have any dishes that have baked on grime that will be hard to get off, fill these dishes with the hot water as well and set them on the counter. Let them sit for about 10 to 15 minutes. And then they will be ready to be washed.

Wash every part of the dishes and items. Add a little bit of dish soap and don't forget to wear a pair of rubber gloves. They are a must when washing dishes. Use them to stand hotter water and to protect your hands from chemicals. Simply dip the dishes into the water and scrub any grease or food off by using a kitchen brush and sponge. Replace the water and add more soap whenever it becomes too full of gunk to clean next dishes.

Check that you’ve gotten the dishes completely clean. If you still can’t get them clean, you can try soaking them longer or using a stronger cleaning solution. Once you’re sure each dish is indeed clean, dry it off using a dish towel. It can be a good idea to sterilize your equipment. Clean the utensil and make sure it's free from bacteria When a sponge or brush starts to smell unpleasant, and the smell is not removed by rinsing, throw it away.

Preparing dishes for the dishwasher is a much shorter process, especially if you have one of the newer dishwashers that will practically scrape off everything. You should also scrape off as much

food as possible to avoid clogging your dishwasher’s drain. When the dishwasher is finished, take the dishes out and put them away. Give them a quick check to make sure they are clean and dry first, so that there are no surprises later when you invite your guests, for example, and set the table.

If for some reasons you don't have an opportunity to clean your home, or even to wash the dishes, you can hire some housekeeping services. They will turn your home into a neat place where you would be able to enjoy your free time.
